Which controller will you get?
I scoured reviews of blanket after blanket and they were all the same including this one. Glowing reviews telling how they were the greatest thing on Godâs green earth and negative reviews saying how they came apart, stopped heating, shriveled up or otherwise suffered some sort of untimely death. I decided to just pick the blanket with the simplest controller and this is the one I chose.There is a slight chemical odor when opening the package which I would have preferred to smell like strawberry ice cream, but it quickly dissipates.The blanket is thin and Iâm fine with that. It means it will be a good summer blanket too. If you feel the blanket, you can feel the wires, but isnât that the case with all electric blankets? Itâs been the case with all electric blankets I have owned. I’ve had blankets where it felt like I was sleeping under a chain link fence. Somehow, I donât notice the wires in this blanket when I go to bed, but of course I have a sheet between me and the blanket.There is no preheat feature, but I didnât want one. Why would you need that. Just turn your blanket on and it heats up. This blanket gets very warm very fast. Admittedly, I didnât go through and patiently try the different settings to see how much difference each setting would have, but Iâm not looking for precision heat. I just crank it up to ten before going to bed and lower it to four or five when I go to bed and this system works for me. If you want to lose weight just leave it on ten all night. You’ll wake up in a sweat and ten pounds lighter.If I had and issue it would be the controllers – two because I bought a queen. They are not exactly what I expected to get. One picture shows a little window in the dial with a number showing in the window. The controllers I got look the same minus the window. Instead the dial has an arrow painted on it which points to the numbers one through ten painted on the controller. A new picture, which I believe was added since I made my purchase, only shows up if you select the queen blanket in the mushroom color, (I really like the color), shows the controllers I got. All the other colors and sizes only show the controller with the window. Do the different size and color blankets actually have different controllers? Did I get old style controllers or a newer design? Are they eliminating the window to save three cents? Again, only the queen mushroom blanket shows the controller minus the window, but also shows the controller with the window. It in no way affects the operation of the blanket. I just donât like ordering one thing and getting something that looks different. I like getting exactly what I ordered. If there had been completely different controllers I likely would have returned the blanket since the controller design is the reason I chose this blanket, but I can live without the little window.I really like that the controllers are so simple even though they are a little clunky sitting on the nightstand. Iâll likely end up fastening them down with Velcro or double stick tape or maybe hang them on hooks so the weight of the power cord isnât able to pull them down to the floor. There doesnât seem to be a lot of controllers out there made to properly sit and remain on your nightstand. Are you listening design engineers? With these controllers you just press a button to turn it on and twist the dial to the setting you want and your done. Very quickly the blanket is nice and toasty. I like being able to quickly twist that dial to the setting I want rather than having to press a button to cycle through the settings. The blanket will shut off automatically after ten hours or you can hit the button to turn it off.So far Iâm pleased with the blanket. Itâs simple to operate, provides good evenly distributed heat and there is only one electrical connection at the foot of the blanket. That electrical connection is at most only six inches from the foot of the blanket which means itâs out of the way and your feet arenât feeling it. No doubt if it falls apart, stops heating or shrivels up it will be on the coldest night in the coming winter, but thatâs what girlfriends are for. So far Iâm warm and happy â in more ways than one.

Staying toasty during winter
This blanket works great. I love the dual controls. My husband like to sleep with his on higher and I donât. This works out so well. The quality is great. You canât feel the wires, well.. you can feel them if you try but my point is that they are not bothersome.The only thing that could be perceived negatively is the feel of the blanket: I honesty do not like the texture. If it were a regular blanket I would not purchase it just because of the texture of the blanket. With it being a heated blanket I can over look the texture because I placed it between to other blankets.

Quick warmth
This blanket is a perfect size for a queen size bed, not skimpy. It also stays in place beautifully and does not come untucked. Best of all, you begin to feel heat within 2 minutes if you are in the bed. The numbers actually are truly different from one another, so if you turn it down you definitely feel a difference. It’s very soft, medium weight, appears to be very good quality, and the controls are white, which blends beautifully with our decor. In the dark you can identify the on/off button by feel.This is the third Sunbeam electric blanket I have bought, one was for a friend. I also own a Sunbeam electric mattress pad for a guest bed, which everyone loves. Quality is reliable at Sunbeam.The only negative on this blanket might be that the wires are not well buried, and they are palpable with your feet and knees, but it does not bother us.

Soft and Works Great
Bought this heated blanket to replace an older Sunbeam heated blanket that had finally pooped out after twenty years.I was pleasantly surprised at how much softer this newer version is and at the improved connection port for the cord. I like to keep my bedroom window open essentially all fall and winter and, while we’ve only had two nights get down to freezing so far this year, the blanket heats very well and keeps me warm even at low settings. I think the highest setting I used for the freezing nights was a four and I was toasty all night.The only reason I couldn’t give this blanket a full five stars is that, unlike the older version, it doesn’t hold onto the heat or time settings from one use to the next, so I have to reset it nightly. Additionally, the settings screen is BRIGHT and makes my entire room glow blue if I don’t turn it face down. The older version had a soft orange glow that didn’t contaminate the room with unnecessary light and I really wish they’d stuck to a similar light for this one.Even with the annoyances listed above, I’d highly recommend this heated blanket if you’re looking for something lightweight and washable that works well. Hopefully it lasts as long as my old one!

A must have
I am a college student and my roommates HATE when I use a space heater but I have the basement room of our rental, so I was looking for an alternative that they would be more cool with. This blanket is that solution! It keeps me perfectly warm through the night, but it definitely has to be COLD to use it because it holds in heat so well that if itâs warm out then Iâm sweating when I wake up. I only use it on the lowest setting over night but itâs perfect. I also like turning it onto the higher setting for an hour while Iâm making dinner/cleaning before bed and then shutting it off and getting into a cozy bed. Itâs super easy to use! But I wish the display dimmed or turned off cause it can be bright in a dark room. Itâs not overly thick, holds in heat, and is perfect for a inbetween sheet and comforter blanket. The cords are long which helps reach the outlets without creating a tripping hazard. And I like that it has dual sides, so I can warm half of the bed and keep the other half cool in case I get overheated. Plus my partner sleeps better in the cold so he doesnât want it on when he stays. Overall, itâs great. I got it on sale, Iâd buy it full price! But the downside is that it makes getting out of bed in the morning hard as I want to stay cozy in my blankets haha!
