Good quality, sturdy and so far works great
Right out of the box we could tell this was a high quality kit. Very heavy, nice texture and seemed well made. We were a hair concerned after reading reviews about the two halves of the rail creating a little “bump” where they come together, but this one was actually pretty flush, so we were happy about that. At first glance the instructions seemed confusing and not very descriptive, but once we got going it wasn’t too bad. Our door is 4×8 and very heavy maple plywood with MDF strips on the front. This seems to be holding it up no problem, it slides nice (one wheel is a little noisy, but not bad considering the weight of the door), and it looks great. It comes with adjustable stoppers you slide on the ends of the rail to control how far the door goes in both directions. These are not strong enough to stay in place if you push the door hard, but as long as you open close gently, no problem. If you have kids, it could pose a problem potentially, but our kids are grown so can’t say for sure. I’d say it took us 2-3 hours in total to get the door hung. The hardest part was getting all the holes perfectly level, so the door wouldn’t slide one way or the other. Luckily we put a header above our opening when we built so finding studs wasn’t an issue. Overall we are really happy with the purchase and it was far less expensive than the big box home stores. I would recommend. (P.S. there are some small rubber stoppers that we did not use and actually have no idea why they are included. They are supposed to prevent rubbing, but that was not an issue with our install and we followed instructions pretty closely).

Surprisingly good quality for the price
When this came and first thing I saw was “made in China” on every parts pkg I was totally disappointed but once removed and set out, it seemed pretty sturdy so gave it a whirl. The parts fit together well enough for the headrail (2 pcs) and the wheels glide very smoothly on it. All parts were well coated with the black paint and nothing chipped off. If follow directions carefully, this is time consuming but not difficult if you’re a handyperson or have someone helping who is. Really pleased with the final look and works exactly as I expected it to.Couple things learned:1. MEASURE your barn door and opening exactly from various spots on the floor. We added 1 1/2″ to the suggested measurements for the rail height and got a perfect 3/4″ off the floor. Would’ve scraped using the directions numbers.2. PUT IN A HEADBOARD to mount the rail on. No one’s house has 16″ on center studs that will exactly fit a sliding door unless the house was constructed with plans pre-set for one to be installed.3. PRE-TEST ALL PIECES prior to installation. Rails in my pkg only fit one way and each piece had to go up individually before locking in center. Some screws fit different areas better than others.4. Takes two people to construct this and put up a finished door so be sure you have help. Multiple sockets, drill bits, tape measures, step stools, etc. need to be at hand or will frustrate yourself with many trips to accomplish the build.

Great product, easy to install, and very sturdy.My only complain is the floor-guide included in this kit was a bit short in my case and looks very flimsy. My floor was a bit off-level and I had to install the door with a larger gap at the bottom. But luckily, I found a very good replacement floor-guide that worked for me.Over all, I am very happy with this set and would recommend it.

This door was to replace a hinged door to a washroom that was a very odd dimension. Since it was solid wood it could be reduced in width by 6 inches and 1 inch in height it was mounted on the barn door track system to accommodate the very limited space available in the adjoining laundry room leaving us washer & drier 2 doors and 3 other passage doors which all struck each other when opened.The track system had a 2 piece rail that had holes predrilled at 16 inch centers. The rail was replaced by a one piece rail custom drilled as there were no studs anywhere in that wall on 16 centers. The door is rather heavy and it now glides effortlessly. A real triumph over the builder botched wall and door that was left us.
