Undoubtedly, for the price this is the best manual (crank) adjustable desk in the market!After extensive searching, I ordered this desk and am absolutely very satisfied. This is the updated version so the negative comments stated in the preceding reviews do not apply to this latest version. Most common complaint of the top corner damage has been eliminated as the received top did not have any damage. Although one of the corner protectors was busted, there was no damage to the top itself. Therefore, the protectors need a bit sturdier design as the box takes a lot of abuse during shipping. It would help if the box is marked FRAGILE in all for corners.PLUSES: Excellent design and metal parts are built with heavy material and very good finishing. The crank handle is thoughtfully designed that can be removed, folded and installed on either side with ease (no screws – push-in & pull-out!). Sets of the rollers are provided along with the bottom pads (both sets can be easily screwed in. Table top is one piece so no lines in the middle, it is about a 5/8″ think particle board that is laminated with a veneer sheet. Overall table top is of good finish and appealing. The table can be adjusted up and down manually with a crank handle, takes about 50 cranks (maybe 30 secs); not much rotational friction so even seniors (80+) would have good exercise but not strenuous at all. No electric motors replacement or no need to find a power outlet to worry about! The max height is about 47″, just perfect for an average height person. The installation is not laborious at all, anyone who can work with a Screwdriver/Allen Wrench can do it in about 30-45 minutes! The price point of about $100 is just unbeatable for the overall quality and design.MINUSES: To be frank, pluses outweigh minuses! The minuses are more for the improvements rather than negatives. Obviously needs better box corners or internal corner protectors to reduce chances of table top corner damage. Suggest use built-in corner reinforcements on the table top. The top needs smooth veneer to allow writing, otherwise current build needs a writing pad. The wrap around veneer strip as well as the wire outlet opening needs liquid proof seal. I used a clear nail top coat to prevent liquid damage. The installation illustrations are not so great and legs (posts) marking A and B are switched, so pay attention to the pictures. (See attached corrected pages). The instructions need revision with texts instead just the illustrations. The cross bar can be better designed avoiding unnecessary slots at both ends resulting into appealing finish. Table top can be made of solid wood but it will cost much more in shipping as well the material cost will be high, so for $100 price point this particle board design is just perfect. However, suggest that use melamine finish instead veneer; it may push point a little higher but still keep it at lower end. If upgraded with suggestions outlined herein, this would be THE BEST DESK in the market for $100-$125 range.Update: Having used for more than a month, this is still a best hand crank adjustable desk, no doubt about it! Highly recommended as functions well and quality & matreials used are exceeds expections. It takes only about 50 crank rotations (30 secs) to take it all the up or down with no strain at all, very smooth operation! Plus a good exercise, anyways, and no worries about replacing electric motor every few years! Look no where else!!

Attractive, well made, great value desk
I’ld been looking at standing desks for months and I finally decided that I didn’t want one that was electric because if the motor or something failed then it could be a major problem trying to adjust the desk height. I saw this one and it was the size that I was looking for I wanted something that was not too big. The white with the oak wood top fits well with my bedroom. I love that this desk has so many different height adjustments. I’m a bit weird in that when I’m sitting I like to be looking down toward my screen and I can lower this desk enough to be able to do that but also I can put it up so that it’s very comfortable for me to be standing at to work as well. The handle is really easy to use and the mechanism really sweet and smooth to adjust the height. The handle folds up neatly when you are not using it. I wont lie it did take me a little while to set the desk up. That was in part because although the instructions said don’t put certain pieces of metal underneath the desktop a certain way I still managed to put them back in exactly the wrong direction so I then kind of gave up for a day as I needed to take them off again (I suck at putting things together). But when I went back and did it it was really easy to get finish. would recommend anyone putting this desk together to first just make sure you’ve got all your parts with their letter numbers and then when you’re putting the screws in don’t tighten everything up until everything’s together and then go back and tighten everything up. There was some spare screws which are always good to have just in case. I got to clear plastic cover for the top of the desk to make sure it doesn’t get scratched by my cats. The desk came in a box that looked like it might have been opened based on the tape around it but when I opened it up it clearly was a new desk and everything inside was really well packaged and all the screws and everything were in unopened bags. This is a really great functional stable desk and I’ve been using it for over 3 weeks now. I haven’t put the casters on but just got the little pads underneath the desk legs but they’re easy to change over if I decide I want to be able to roll the desk around.
