Benefits & Use Cases
The Zinus Jen 47 Inch Wood Dining Table excels in environments where space efficiency meets design sophistication. Its modest footprint makes it a smart choice for studio apartments, small homes, or rooms used for multiple purposes—like living areas that double as dining spaces or home offices needing an occasional meeting surface.
The espresso finish offers a rich, warm tone that pairs beautifully with neutral walls, white cabinetry, or bold accent colors. Natural wood grain patterns ensure no two tables look exactly alike, adding unique character to your décor. Beyond dining, the table serves well as a console in entryways, a laptop workstation in bedrooms, or even a display surface for books and decor in sunrooms or reading nooks.
Because it’s constructed from genuine solid wood, this table develops a lovely patina over time—subtle shifts in color and texture that enhance its organic appeal. It’s also more resistant to warping and damage compared to lower-quality engineered woods, making it a long-term investment for everyday use.
Care & Maintenance Tips
To preserve the beautiful espresso finish and extend the life of your table, follow these simple care guidelines:
- Use coasters, placemats, or trivets to protect the surface from heat marks and moisture damage.
- Avoid placing the table in direct sunlight or near sources of excessive humidity to prevent fading or cracking.
- Clean spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry wipe to avoid staining.
- For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution sparingly and always buff thoroughly with a soft cloth.
- Ensure the table sits on a stable, level surface to maintain balance and prevent leg stress.

This table exceeded expectations!
I usually dont write reviews mostly due to laziness but I felt compelled to write one for this table. I had looked on other sites for a mid-century modern dark wood table and was looking at spending at least $150-200 and some of those were even wood, just pressboard. when I saw this the reviews were pretty good so i gave it a shot and im glad i did.1) the table is packaged extremely well with lots of padding.2) the table takes 5 min to set up3) they give you allen wrench, a decent quality ratchet and complimentary greeting cards x 34) the table itself looks great and has a nice clean finish5) its light enough but has decent weight so it doesnt feel cheap (made out of wood, real sturdy)Overall very happy with this purchase for the aesthetic, the quality and the price!would buy again and would check out zinus’ other products.

Easy set up, packaged nicely, and very sturdy
I was actually so impressed with this table! Ordered on Friday Feb 16 and it got here on Monday the 19th, despite it being presidents day.The contents inside were all packaged nicely; every piece of wood is in contact with styrofoam and I didn’t see any damages to any pieces, so that was a relief.Building the table was also very easy and intuitive. The table top itself is already built, all you need to do is screw in all 4 legs which honestly took under 15 minutes. The table itself is actually VERY sturdy. The legs aren’t flimsy when moving or carrying the table and everything seems very secure. The wood is VERY nice. I’m actually so impressed for the price of this table. This style goes with everything in my apartment and is small enough to fit in my living room. Really great purchase. I’d recommend this to a friend

Perfect table—but scratches easily.
All around wonderful table for the price—easy to put together, sturdy but still light and does NOT look like cheap particle board if you’re wondering like I did! The only negative is that the wood is very soft and scratches easily. After about a month there are already 3-4 large scratches on my table just from normal wear and tear (we use it as a kitchen dining table, so mostly for breakfast and dinner and it’s just 2 adults). Wish it had a sturdier too because the scratches are pretty obvious! Still happy with the purchase, looks perfect in our space and was affordable.

Real wood table in excellent packaging for a very reasonable price!
This table is amazing! It’s thoughtfully packed; I assembled two different pieces of flat pack furniture today from two different companies, and this one was far superior. All the corners were protected by styrofoam inserts, all the styrofoam in the package was sealed in plastic (no styrofoam snow all over the place while I was unpacking and assembling!), and the hardware was blister packed on a cardboard card so nothing was roaming loose in the box. It came with the usual L-shaped hex tool, but Zinus also included their own branded hex tool with a nice handle that was much easier to work with. Eight bolts and you’re done. The instructions have large, clear diagrams. The package also included an envelope with a thank you note and blank cards to send to friends/family. This company cares about its product AND its presentation! The table itself is lovely. I purchased the natural version, and in person it’s a mellow honey color. The legs are solid wood with felt feet already attached, and the top is real wood all the way through. It is a pieced wood, not a solid top. I included a picture to show what it looks like because the joins are very visible, but not messy or unpleasant. The hardware was all heavy duty and included bolts and washers. It would be very easy to paint this table. It’s also got a nice weight and it’s sturdy enough that I dont anticipate any issues using it as a craft table. Some pictures show this table with two chairs on each of the long sides, but they’d have to be very narrow. This table was a great buy for around $100. I am so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the whole package at the price point…honestly, it put most of the other flat pack furniture I’ve bought or assembled to absolute shame. This is a great piece!

Compact but sturdy dinning table
The ZINUS dinning table is the perfect option for a small homes with limited dinning room space. Compact and sturdy, this table is attractive as well. Assembly is quick and easy, and the tools you need are provided, so all you need to do is attach the legs and your table is ready to use. Another plus is that, while the table is made of wood, the table is light enough that it can be moved easily to fit whatever you think it will fit best. The ZINUS table is versatile as well and can be used as a desk. Solid, attractive, easy to assemble, and versatile, this table will be a welcome addition to any small or mid-size home/room.

Decent Price, Nice Table, Easy to Move
Bought this table for our dining area(s). We move quite often, so I wanted something that looked nice and modern, yet was easy to move and assemble with limited tools and time, as well as be sturdy enough to survive multiple moves. The table itself is the perfect size for two, but can seat up to four, albeit a bit cramped, though I like a good bit of space when I eat. The size is comparable to a 4-seater at a typical restaurant. The table comes in five parts, the top and four legs, which easily bolt on with two screws each, attached with a hex tool. They do provide a nifty little ratcheting tool instead of the typical l-key, which was very nice. The wood is a bit on the softer side, but as long as your not cutting directly on it, or throwing things down too much, it shouldn’t see much more wear and tear than a table normally would. Any nicks that have come up, I’ve easily been able to hide with a sharpie marker.Overall, for the price, I don’t think there’s too much one could ask. It’s a table, it has survived two moves so far, and it looks pretty darn nice.

I’d been looking to replace my monolithic, heavy, one-spill-and-it’s-warped-forever veneer-over-particleboard dining table for a while but the prices for tables like this one are double, triple elsewhere and they’re also made overseas and no more impressive in person. Took a chance on Zinus and am very pleased. It’s got some minor cons but I think they’re outweighed by the pros.It was packaged very well and arrived without any damage. Easy to bring into the house by yourself. It’s made of solid wood, no particleboard, no veneer, no melamine. Let me repeat that: IT’S MADE OF SOLID WOOD. At this price. Sure, it’s pine, not walnut or mahogany. But it costs about as much as a really nice dinner out for two after Zumba class. And it’s a sturdy, functional table that four people can sit at and have a nice time, maybe with a big pan of lasagna, some board games afterwards. Nicole will spill her wine as a distraction so she can cheat, but with a quick wipe and a blind eye, the table and the friendship should both survive (so long as as Dan doesn’t mention the post-Zumba-class dinner). The tabletop is already assembled, with the side skirts and corner leg brackets installed — all you have to do is bolt on the legs. To that end, Zinus includes the bolts, some nicely firm spring washers, and flat washers; all very high quality, with two full spares (two bolts, two spring washers, two flat washers). The real surprise is the included ratcheting hex key, which works really well. No more tightening a quarter turn, pulling the key out, putting it back in and tightening another quarter turn, scraping your knuckles on the skirt and risking stripping the bolt head each time. Why don’t all ‘assembly required’ furniture manufacturers do this?! They also include a standard hex key for masochists, very inclusive. And the included greeting and thank-you cards are a thoughtful touch (I mean this sincerely, they’re quite nice, I’ll be filling in the thank-you card and mailing it back to Zinus, for the nice table). So the cons. Real nitpicks at this price point, but I’ll mention them, because other reviews might make a bigger deal of them than they ought to.It’s made of pine. It’s finished well (the colour on the ‘espresso’ is a deep, rich brown that has a nice hint of burgundy if the light hits it right), but it’s still made of pine. It will dent and mar more easily than hardwood. It’s not hardwood. But if you don’t knock the edges with a golf club or write a ballpoint-pen confession without a placemat, it should do okay. I haven’t had Nicole over yet so I don’t know how it will fare after a wine spill, but I feel confident. There are a couple of noticeable quarter-sized knots on my tabletop that can be felt when I run my finger over them with a blindfold on. And there is visible finger joinery — that’s the kind where two pieces of wood are attached to each other by joining two zigzagged edges — both on the tabletop and on two of the legs. You should be able to see some in the photo I’ve included. Some people won’t like it. Others will see it as proof that IT’S MADE OF SOLID WOOD. It’s not a printed-on woodgrain pattern, it’s pieces of pine that have been attached using a strong joint that can’t be felt at all. Until we splice brontosaurus DNA into pine tree DNA and grow pine trees big enough to cut whole tabletops out of, finger joinery will have to do.It’s a good table.
