Sturdy hardware, relatively easy to assemble
Finally got around to installing this after a few months.Most of the assembly is pretty straightforward, and the instructions are generally easy to follow.The only real assembly gripe I have is that the way you have to join the two sections of rail is a bit wonky. You use one of the support brackets to join the two sections together, and despite there being holes drilled into the C channel, they don’t really line up with anything. So when you’re trying to lift the channel into place, it sags considerably in the middle. You’ll need a helper to lift it into place until you can secure it to the wall.You will have to use wall anchors to put at least one of the support brackets in if using it inside. Studs are (usually) on 16″ centers, and the total length of the channel isn’t a multiple of 16. It also is not designed to deal with an entry way that has molding or other trim installed around it, so you’ll need to provide some kind of spacer to move the assembly away from the wall.But it is sturdy, and all of the brackets are made out of a nice heavy gauge steel so there’s no flexing or bending of parts. Easy to adjust once it is in place.
