I have used this type of light in hanging form as a stand alone and table. They take up little room add a great rustic look and can be tucked into a corner. I use low lighting for night time glow. Love this look and really very affordable.

This lamp is used for reading over my easy chair. It looks good and is pretty well made for the cost. originally purchased a similar style lamp for $85 dollars and it was a piece of junk and had to send it back.

Just moved into a new apartment and wanted a fun statement lamp for my shared living room. I loved the concept of this design and figured iâd go for it! Iâll start with the good (as iâm overall happy with this purchase):1. It is very stylish.2. The base is good quality and the overall structure of the lamp feels sturdy. i.e. not wobbly or flimsy.3. The adjustable crank actually works. You can lower/ raise the reaching arm to fit your space on a use-to-use basis. The pendant string is also adjustable, allowing you to lower and raise the shade and bulb as well. I love these qualities because it means that you have a great number of configurations to chose from.Hereâs the criticisms:1. The light string is only adjustable if you loosen the screw located on the center pole itself. This screw is a little tight when fitting in the socket, making it hard to loosen and tighten it with your hands. Currently, If i was to raise the pendant higher or lower, I would need an allen wrench screwdriver, as it is too challenging to adjust with a single hand. This compromises the ease of use, Iâll probably try to lubricate the socket with some w-d 40. This being said, the arm crank is much easier to adjust as it is done with a hand screw that you install onto the fixture when you build it.2. The lamp shade doesnât screw on flush to the light socket. Theres is a good bit of space between the shade and the socket where the bulb screws in, which is a minor critique as you canât tell by looking at it from a distance. It causes the lamp shade to fit loosely though, and creates a rattling effect if you try to adjust or move it.3. The wire that threads through the gear cranks has some kinks in it that cause it to fall off the tracks if youâre not careful. I think with time it should settle and straighten out. It doesnât bother me much. The gear crank that sticks out the farthest is slightly crooked – probably due to the plastic material that differs from the metal of the frame – but again itâs not a huge deal and doesnât greatly affect itâs overall form and function from my viewpoint.All in all, very happy with this purchase. This is a very affordable statement piece that will add great character to your living space if youâre interested in industrial aesthetics, steampunk aesthetics, or just like fun little bits of engineering gadgets around your home.

Threaded Parts Do Not Fit Together
The style of this lamp and the simplicity of assembly was pretty good. It was well packed in styrofoam with the tools and directions taped to the inside of the box where they would not be lost. The threads between rod 1 and 2 near the base of the lamp had defects that I had to sand out and lubricate to get them assembled. The real deal breaker is that the hole in the lamp shade is the wrong size for the threaded bulb fixture. It also has damage that bends the hole so it would make it even harder to rig this even if you were able to somehow reshape the hole to accommodate the light fixture. For 89 dollars, I should be able to use the shade that came with the lamp, as well as the other threaded parts without modifying them. I think the factory might have a problem with quality control, because I am not the only one with these defects. It is a cool lamp. It is too bad these simple defects render it nearly unusable.

Quality lamp for half the price of competitors
I was debating whether I should purchase the more expensive one because quality could play a role I am glad I didnt. Theres not much to these lamps, when you find out the other competitors are the same exact setup and design its inevitable anyone else would choose the cheaper route. I am glad I did. Currently has an edison bulb in it and will raise the arm up and down depending on how much cord you slack up or down on. I love lamp

Top vertical joint is out of line and can’t be reset. Makes lamp look terrible
I was excited to receive this lamp. Assemble instructions were not great but doable. But when I started to attach the horizontal arm that holds the light shade I saw that the very top joint or nut was off line by about 30 degrees. This meant the pulleys would not line up nor hold the electric cord. I used an allen wrench to try to loosen the joint but it was stuck tight. I am going to have to return it. Very disappointed
