Product Overview

The Bedz King Stairway Bunk Bed offers a practical and stylish solution for families needing multi-level sleeping space in a compact room. Designed with safety and convenience in mind, this Twin over Twin bunk bed features a built-in stairway instead of a traditional ladder, making it easier and safer for children to access the top bunk. The bed includes three storage drawers integrated into the stairway steps and two additional under-bed drawers, providing ample space for clothing, bedding, or toys—ideal for smaller bedrooms where every inch counts.

Manufactured from solid Brazilian pine sourced from sustainable plantations, this bunk bed is free of particle board and finished with a child-safe coating, ensuring durability and peace of mind. With its modular design, the bed can be separated into two standalone twin beds if needed, offering flexibility as your child’s needs change. The unit ships from a large warehouse in Texas and comes fully assembled with included tools, supporting quick setup for busy families.

Benefits & Use Cases

This bunk bed is especially well-suited for families with limited bedroom space who need efficient storage and safe access to elevated sleeping areas. The stairway design reduces tripping hazards compared to conventional ladders, making it a safer option for younger children or those sharing a room. The combination of three stairway drawers and two under-bed compartments creates five total storage units—ideal for keeping bedrooms tidy without sacrificing function.

The ability to split the bed into two separate twins adds long-term value, allowing the same unit to adapt as siblings grow or if future resale is considered. Its height and structure also provide sufficient headroom for adults or older teens using the lower bunk, increasing usability across age groups.

Available in multiple configurations (Twin over Twin, Twin over Full, Full over Full), this model specifically supports a Twin over Twin layout, which fits standard twin mattresses (not included) and suits siblings or sleepovers.

Important Notes

Assembly is required, though tools are provided; some customers report variation in ease of assembly, so following instructions carefully is recommended. Mattresses are not included and must be purchased separately. The top bunk footboard includes an opening to accommodate the stairway entrance, which should be noted during placement planning.

Weight limits apply to each bunk level: do not exceed 175 lbs on the upper bunk or 200 lbs on the lower bunk. This bed is intended for residential indoor use only and should be anchored securely to prevent tipping if not placed against a wall. Regular inspection of bolts and joints is advised to maintain structural integrity over time.

Sold exclusively as the Twin over Twin configuration with two under-bed drawers; other sizes require selecting alternate product variants.

    Gorgeous bunk bed!
After final assembly this bed is very cute and very sturdy seeming. It came with enough parts to assemble and aside from a minor scratch or two the wood was in good condition. This took two of us the better part of 6 or 7 hours to assemble. That said, it’s worth it. I couldn’t find a similar style of bunk bed anywhere at my local furniture stores (both big name and mom/pop) and I knew I really wanted the stairs. I grew up with the traditional ladder bunk and as our youngest would make me nervous with a ladder. This bed is sturdy and far more well made than my childhood bunks, the slats under the top bunk mattress are reinforced with an extra bar and the railing is also very sturdy. This bed is colossal and takes up a pretty decent amount of space, but it allowed us to get rid of dressers due to the massive amount of storage space provided in the drawers. Please note that the bottom drawers under the bed are not on tracks, these just have casters that easily roll on our patterned Berber carper. My biggest concern for this bed is how the drawers hold up over time as kids are very hard on furniture anyways and I have already seen them standing in the drawers. The amount of garbage that this is packed in is ridiculous, be prepared for three garbage bags stuffed full of bags and Styrofoam and a massive stack of cardboard. While I’m grateful it arrived undamaged it’s kinda of obscene how much trash there was.

Awesome bunk bed that’s sturdy and well built. (Have Advil ready for your back after its complete!)
I’m a handy person and was excited to tackle the building of this bed. Product ships in multiple packages that aren’t necessarily labeled as to their contents. So, a large work area is a must to unpack and organize the different pieces. Products are well packed, and each piece is labeled with a small sticker for easy identification during the build process. 99% of the pieces were perfect, and only one or two had small imperfections that were able to be hidden on the wall side of the bed.It took me about 7 hours by myself to build the entire bed with storage drawers with a few lower back breaks and lunch. Factored into that time was also the multiple trips to and from the garage where I was assembling pieces and then taking them into the bedroom. The pieces went together exactly as they should have. I was impressed at the exactness of the fit when attaching multiple pieces together. Screw holes and dowel holes lined right up with no issue.I only needed another persons help when taking one bed fully assembled and stacking it on the other. Otherwise, the pieces are able to be moved by any ordinary capable person, and if you’re assembling it in the room its going in, it’ll be even easier. I chose the garage as I needed to organize all the parts and get my game plan.I will say, you NEED to use a powered screw driver even though I think the manufacturer doesn’t suggest it. If you don’t have one, I don’t know if i’d attempt building this myself honestly. Your fingers and hands will suffer greatly as there are a LOT of things to screw in/together. For instance, there are (I think) 56 screws, 28 per bed for just the wooden slats alone that hold the mattress up. Do yourself a favor and use a power tool. Turn the torque down so you don’t split the wood, and hand tighten the things that need to be nice and tight. The only “obstacle” I encountered and I have a hard time even calling it that, was when reading the directions as to which way to orient the stairs (left entry or right). I ended up using the “right” which actually is “left” to my brain. The kids go up the stairs and go left into the bed. The only thing I can think the manufacturer meant by “right” in my case is the railing is on the right, not the entrance. So, that’s what I put in my mind as I went through the multiple steps for a “right” orientation.Other than that, the quality is superb and the instructions are fantastic. For an almost $1000 bed for kids, I’d hope to have these things at a minimum, and they delivered. Its a big purchase that I dont regret one bit.

Sturdy and solid. Worth the extra $$
Looking at other options that are less expensive don’t have the storage or the sturdiness. Say that this is solid wood and thus it should be more sturdy. Sturdy it is. After assembly the kids can climb it like a jungle gym with no issues. The steps are super tall so that can be tough for the kids but they adapt and just go slower. Once you buy this, I can’t see you needing to get the kids another bed until teenage years.-Sturdy/heavy-Solid construction-Assembly took about 6 hours, solo. Broke it up in 2 days due to work.-Storage spaceSmall upgrades to request.-Wish it had 2 middle braces if the kids decide to jump more.-Wish it had one more vertical brace on the long sides to beef up support.-Wish the top small guard had 2 pins for lateral support, instead of just 1.-Wish delivery boxes where marked showing what was the bed, steps, and storage. You can make it out but a picture would help simplify it.No real Cons as the above are just quality of life adds. The price is a little high but you get a Solid bed that will last. Pay now and not worry for over a decade when the kids outgrow it.

    So Sturdy!!!
I love, love love this bunkbed. First, packaging is over the top. The best I’ve seen! Every, and I mean every single piece is wrapped and foam is in-between the pieces. The tiny dings on my bunkbeds are from me putting it together =) not from shipping (get Amazon’s inside delivery. They were a dream to work with and free if unloading in your entryway).Second, every box included the instructions for the contents so I knew what I was assembling. Tools were included ( save a basic screw driver) and all holes that were predrilled were in the correct spot. Third, I (a 41 year old female) was able to put this together mostly myself). My kids helped me lift the top bunk and my husband helped me move the stairs in place.Lastly, this bed is solid. There is no wobble or squeaking. I have gotten on the bunk bed with my 7 and 5 year old for reading at bedtime. The stairs are perfect for storage and are so sturdy we didn’t attach them to bed (there wedged in-between walls and bed).Final thoughtsWe have had the bed for over a month now. My boys love it. I am beyond happy with my buy. I would buy again and highly recommend. I looked long and hard for solid wood beds that were affordable and provided storage. This exceeded my expectations.
