Up until recently, I have been trying to update fixtures around my home. I had been saving my nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars so I could hire an electrician to come and have things installed, I thought that I was going to have quite a wait ahead of me, but thankfully that recently changed.My son-in-law and grandson decided to put their heads together and they installed a fixture in another room forr me. My grandson had worked briefly with an electrician over the summer. Unfortunately, the electrician he worked for didn’t have enough work to keep him busy most of the time and he wasn’t able to learn as much as he would have liked.He told me that he felt comfortable with installing a light, but he was not confident in his ability to install a ceiling fan and light combination by himself. My son-in-law felt that he could do it, although he had never done there before, but I could tell that the idea I had him a little nervous You could just see that he wasn’t comfortable doing these installations by himself .. PersonallyI was overjoyed when the two of them decided to put their heads together and give it a try.Because it went well, they were much more comfortable installing this fixture My pocketbook thanks them.What, I appreciate most about this ceiling fan is how very versatile it is. If you choose this fan, you’re going to get a lot of options. For me, the fact that this fan could be flush minted. and the height was able to be anywhere from 10 to 18 inches.I don’t have the highest of ceilings in my home and chose to have them install it at the minimum height of 10 inches. This was as much necessity as anything else. Not only are my ceilings not very high, but every member of my household is tall. My son is 6’7. He doesn’t live with me, but he’s here on a regular basis. I have two teenage grandsons who live with me. One is 6’3, and the other is 6’4. Any further than 10” and they would have to duck. As it is my 6’7 son will likely to have too anyway.In the description at the top of the page, you will see where it is described as being very quiet and having a sound similar to the wind. It is a very apt description. Personally I felt relaxed as the slight sound ii made was very soothing. It is just noticeable enough that I am happy to say I relaxing as it lulled me to sleep last night.As it has only been one night, I can’t say for sure whether that will continue or not, but I think it will. I certainly hope so.Another feature is the motor is reversible. In the summer, you can direct it so that your rooms are cooler and in the winter you can change it so that they are warmer. That was a factor. I was grateful for last night. It has been so cold I’ve had to run two space heaters in order to get warm enough to fall asleep. Thanks to the ability to reverse the direction of the airflow. We recently got 9.6 inches of snow where I live and it’s been a good bit colder than it normally is. The fact that I was able to get by with just one heater last night thanks to reversing the motor was something that impressed me.Being able to change the direction of the air flow is as beneficial in the winter as it is in the summer.Furthermore, it is described as being 80% more energy saving. I really hope that this is the case. My husband passed away in March, and since that time I’ve had to become much more frugal. Previous experience has shown me that most items that I’ve updated to go at least a little way Towards saving me money thanks to so many things being more energy efficient than they were the 20 or more years since I’ve updated anything.My previous fixture had three speeds and one light setting where as this baby has six speeds and three light settings. I really like that the light is adjustable because most of the lighting in my house has been on the warmer side. It was a preference of my husband and a bit of a frustration for me because I like it to be brighter the majority of the time. However, in the evening, I like the warmer light and I also find sometimes when it’s on the cool setting, it puts a glare on my TV that the warm does not..As if all this is not enough The blades are reversible. You have the option between choosing light walnut or dark walnut. I’m the kind of person that would probably try switching back-and-forth periodically. I quite enjoy switching things up. So much though that once someone told me that every time she seen me, I looked like a different person. I have always enjoyed change. To me that sleek and simple design is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve said in many of my reviews that my home leads more towards a farmhouse, however, eclectic style, but I’ve been trying to incorporate some modern contemporary touches and this ceiling fan plays well into that.It doesn’t take anything away from what I already have, but it certainly adds to it. It’s amazing how one change can cause you to look at things in an entirely different way. One way this feechose to go with the dark walnut. It ties in better with the other colors in my home and I believe it also adds a bit more of an odd towards modern and contemporary decor and it suits me quite well. i’ve been working on composing this review for a good while. It’s getting late so I’m going to stop, but if I have repeated myself or explain anything in a manner that doesn’t make sense, I apologize. I think it’s OK but when I get tired, it’s a case of who knows.

Replaces existing fan & adds versatile REMOTE & LED light
Great replacement fan for an old bedroom fan. Style is minimalist/ clean. Simple way to add a light and versatile remote too. See photos for blade color choices(dark vs light) assembly was about 45 minutes. Design of electronics for LED light and remote use convenient plastic plugs during assembly, leaving simple three wire electrical connection (red, black & green ground) for installation. Hopefully the led light board lasts as it is not a standard “bulb” you could pick up at the hardware store if it goes.

Fabulous, Sharp Looking Fan
The AKOFUN Ceiling Fan with Lights and Remote Control is perfect to bring breeze and airflow to my patio on a breezeless day. I recently bought a home in the mountains. I am amazed at how often there is no breeze to speak of where I thought the opposite would be true. It becomes extremely uncomfortable on my patio. This fan will solve that problem.The instruction manual is very detailed and clearly written with a parts list. That is important to me because I will be installing the fan myself and it astounds me how often light fixtures are sold without adequate instructions, if you get them at all. The detailed, clear instructions make this an easy assembly. All the parts listed were provided. I am happy to see there is one extra screw as it almost always happens where I drop at least one.The fan has two color choices with the blades, a light wood tone and a dark wood tone. I love that there is a choice for me to use light wood tones which I prefer. I have a sloped roof on my porch. The fact the fan expands to a long length works perfect for me so the blades will clear the roof.I am very happy with the AKOFUN Ceiling Fan with Lights and Remote and I can’t wait until Spring arrives as I will be able to spend so much more time on my patio with the breeze and airflow this fan will bring.
