Nice Option for Hot and Cold Presses
These work pretty good for comfort when needed. Using them as a hot compress is the better option, I put one in the microwave for 90 seconds and it comes out steaming hot, in fact too hot to use, it takes a couple of minutes to get to the right temperature where it won’t burn you. The heat lasts for 10 to 15 minutes, and works very well. They also have a decent smell, reminds me of a rice heat pack. The material is also very soft, I feel they are made well, decent quality.When using in the freezer, they are decent, but the cold doesn’t last as long as I would like, which is why getting two is a good choice so you can switch them out easily.

Donât leave it unattended in the microwave
I am giving it a five stars because I feel it is a good heating pad for the year that I had it. HOWEVER, after a year of occasional usage, the heating pad caught fire in the microwave sending a toxic smell throughout my home. There was a lot of oily residue left in the microwave. This happened after the one minute interval the instructions suggest. Watch the heating pad and donât leave it unattended.

Useful, but it smelled weird when it got here. It said it was meant to smell like lavender, but it was very strongly strange. Now it is more subtly strange. It’s very handy and useful, we use it a lot, but it smells weird. I didn’t realize it was from China. I don’t like to think of anything for medical purposes possibly having bad chemicals in it, that’s why I don’t like buying things from China. I am not sure whose standards on toxins are lowest, theirs or ours (USA) , but I would much rather buy this product from the US and know where the “lavendar smell” was coming from……I didn’t realize it had a “lavendar smell”. Without it, it’s the perfect product, perfect size, and very easy to use. We will use it for a long time. Hence, the 3 instead of the 1.

Great small affordable heating pad
I really like this heating pad. It has been reliable. I love the soft fabric and not overwhelming smell. I have had no issues with heating in the microwave (and I only use it as a heating pad – particularly for my stomach). I have had no issues with smell even from opening it and Iâve had it for about a year. Itâs got a decent weight, but not too heavy. The beads on the inside are small – which I definitely prefer compared to a cherry pit heating pad I used in the past.

I like how fast it warms up, it stays warm and how it wraps nicely around my wrist. Needed it for moist therapy per my OT. I like the fragrance but if youâre not into the smell I would suggest not getting it, it can be strong.

I have a few heat packs and this is the only one I have that comes out of the microwave wet every single time. Itâs a bit inconvenient and gross. I avoid using it now unless I need it.
