WELL MADE AND THOUGHT OUT
We looked at all the smart locks on Amazon, and after considering looks and features, we went with this lock. The packaging is very much in the Apple style, with clear instructions. I didn’t measure the hole in my door for the lock, and the one I wanted to use was too small. Fortunately, I have three locks; the second one I chose had ample room. I did need to use my multitool and chisels to make room for the larger strike plate. Once installed, the software is easy to use. The only concern I still have is how much actual range the keypad has because I had to try several times to get it to link with the lock from less than ten feet away. The process is straightforward for the average DIY person. I know it’s a challenge to measure the lock hole diameter in the winter because you must remove the existing lock for an accurate measurement. But not having to fumble with keys when coming home in the dark or rain and snow is well worth the effort. This is an excellent investment. Thank You, Level Lock, for making a great product.

Hands down the best smart lock!
This lock was easy to install in place of my existing lock. I couldnât believe how little time it took for me to switch my lock over to this smart lock! My favorite feature is the auto lock setting which gives me added peace of mind knowing the door will lock by itself based on my settings, especially when I forget to.The ability to share the keyless keypad code with anyone has made every day life easier! I can have contractors come when Iâm not home by using a temporary access code. The smart lock has been awesome for my teenagers to use. They sometimes forget their house key, but now they donât have to worry since they can use the app or the keyless keypad for entry.I highly recommend this smart lock, it has been a game changer for my family!

Once you get it working, itâs great
I bought this lock because I cannot abide the look or inconvenience of a traditional pin pad lock. Additionally, we live in a relatively remote area where the houses arenât very close together, and thus need an extra layer of security and peace of mind. Level was the only company I could find (Iâm sure there are more) that created a smart lock that looks like a normal lock.Pros:You can track who locks and unlocks your door (and whether they do so manually or via an app). If you buy level home (which comes with this package), you can lock and unlock your house virtually for visitors, which is super convenient! You can provide guest passes to guests if youâre having a party, etc.Itâs a super cool product and a great idea.Cons:Itâs finicky. Sometimes if your door isnât closed quite correctly, it will say that itâs âunable to lock.â The installation process was awful, and I consider myself to be fairly handy. I ended up having to be on the phone with level support tightening and loosening bolts and screws for 45 minutes.I would recommend getting a professional to install it.Is it worth it for me? Absolutely. But Iâm also very particular about my aesthetics; I donât know if the effort is worth the payoff for everyone.

Wonât consistently connect to Homekit unless you are feet from lock.
The lock looks great and the install was easy. However, even though I can always get a strong connection to the lock from anywhere using the Level app, I can almost never connect through HomeKit unless I am feet away from the lock itself. I had owned a Schlage HomeKit lock in my previous home and never had any connectivity issues through the home app.

Great features
This is a great device and value. Installed this in a family use sometimes rental. It has lots of customization to track and allow usage. It was easy to install both the keypad, connect, and the deadbolt. I like that folks can just use the app. Looks nice and durable. Very cool.

Weak battery power
I am really excited to find this new Level smart lock in Amazon because it’s a rare smart model that looks like a normal lock. The old Kwikset Kevo 99250-201 2nd Gen that I purchased from Amazon a few years ago ago is similar but it only supports Bluetooth so there is no way to control it while I am away from home.I was eager to install it when the new Level smart lock arrived today, but it turns out a disappointment.First of all, the package doesn’t come with any manual or guidance and I had to search from Youtube to find out how to assemble it. It is a simple procedure but still kind of misleading because I expect either a manual or the phone app will guide me through it. Unfortunately the iPhone app doesn’t really show any guidance and asked me to proceed to connect directly to the new lock before it is even assembled. For your reference, there is no way to connect the app to the smart lock if it’s not assembled yet because the pairing requires the battery and the motor be integrated.After I installed and calibrated the lock, I ran intol buggy behavior to lock or unlock. I had to disassemble and recalibrated it multiple times to make it work finally.Finally and most importantly, there is a blocking issue for my case due to its weak power. I have a double door, and the strike hole doesn’t fit perfectly with the bolt, which may cause some friction during locking. With my old lock, I can lock with some force so it’s not an issue. My old Kwikset has 4 AA batteries, so it also can do the job automatically. But this new Level lock comes with only a tiny 3V cr2 battery (less than half the size of an AA battery). Any small friction during locking will hinder its normal operation. In my case, it can’t lock my door at all.Sadly I will have to return this supposedly smart but weak toy back to Amazon.
