Matane Dimmable Motion Sensor LED Ceiling Light with Remote,
$26.99
Product Overview
The Matane 9 Inch Dimmable Motion Sensor LED Ceiling Light is a hard-wired flush mount fixture designed for indoor spaces like closets, hallways, laundry rooms, and staircases. With 1800 lumens of brightness and three color temperature options—3000K warm white, 4000K natural white, and 5000K cool white—it delivers flexible lighting tailored to different environments and preferences. Equipped with a highly sensitive radar motion sensor and an included remote control, this ceiling light offers customizable settings for detection range, daylight sensitivity, lighting duration, and brightness levels.
Key Features
- Hard Wired & Flush Mount Design: This 9-inch ceiling light installs directly into your existing electrical box using standard mounting hardware. Its low-profile flush mount style ensures it fits seamlessly into ceilings without protruding, making it ideal for rooms with limited vertical space.
- Sensitive Radar Motion Sensor: Unlike traditional PIR sensors affected by temperature or environmental changes, this light uses advanced radar technology that can detect movement through obstacles such as doors, walls, and windows. The sensor works reliably regardless of weather or indoor conditions.
- Remote Control Customization: Comes with a dedicated remote that allows you to adjust the detection range (6.5 ft / 13 ft / 20 ft), set the daylight sensor threshold (15 lux / 50 lux / disable), choose lighting duration (5s / 30s / 1 min / 5 min), and dim brightness from 10% to 100%. This level of control lets you personalize the light’s behavior based on room usage.
- Three Lighting Modes: Select between AUTO-ON, G (Motion Only), and Always ON via remote. In AUTO mode, the light activates only in darkness when motion is detected. G mode turns the light on whenever movement is sensed, day or night. The Always ON function gives full manual control using the remote.
- Tri-Color Temperature (3CCT): Switch between 3000K (cozy warm white), 4000K (neutral natural white), or 5000K (bright cool white) to match your mood, task, or time of day. This flexibility supports both functional and ambient needs across various settings.
- High Brightness & Energy Efficiency: Delivers 1800 lumens from just 18 watts, providing ample illumination while maintaining energy efficiency. Ideal for areas where consistent visibility is important but long-term operation is expected.

Benefits & Use Cases
This ceiling light is especially useful in high-traffic or infrequently visited areas where hands-free convenience matters. In closets, it eliminates fumbling for switches in the dark. In hallways and stairwells, it enhances safety by illuminating paths only when needed. Laundry rooms benefit from automatic activation upon entry, reducing unnecessary energy use. The radar sensor ensures reliable performance even if someone moves slowly or partially enters the detection zone.
The inclusion of a remote means you can fine-tune operation without needing physical access to the fixture—ideal for hard-to-reach locations. Whether you want quick bursts of light for brief tasks or sustained illumination during longer stays, the adjustable timing settings support diverse routines.
Because it operates via radar rather than passive infrared, there’s no risk of false negatives due to cold hands, still air, or minor movements. It also avoids issues with pets or small children triggering unintended activations in some PIR models.
Important Notes
Before installation, ensure the unit is at least 5 feet away from any wall switch and WiFi router to prevent interference—especially if your network operates on 5GHz or higher frequencies. Avoid placing near sources of electromagnetic noise that could affect sensor accuracy.
The package includes all necessary mounting hardware, one remote control, a basic tool set, and a user manual. Installation requires connecting wires to your home’s electrical system; if you’re not comfortable working with live circuits, consult a licensed electrician.
Since this is a hard-wired fixture, it must be connected directly to a grounded circuit. Do not attempt to install it as a plug-in lamp unless properly converted by a professional.

6 months and still working great!
I purchased to put in my walk in pantry since my kid seems to forget to shut off the light in the pantry all the time! Does the trick perfectly. It has been in place for over 6 months and no complaints. I was skeptical at first because it has a remote control to it – but you can set it with the remote and forget it and never use the remote again (I don’t even think I remember where it is at!). It mounted to where the traditional ceiling light was at in my pantry. I bypassed the wall switch so that the light is always hot and it doesn’t accidently get shut off. As soon as we open the door to the pantry, it comes right on. Guests think it is a door switch because it is so sensitive to the door opening. We have it set to shut off after 30 seconds of no motion and it does as expected. Great purchase!

A MUST have
Game changer! Why did it take me so long to figure out this is what my kitchen needed! Walk into the kitchen at night without turning light on. Perfect amount of timing too! I need in of these for the hallway now too, just haven’t done it yet. You will be pleased with this product! Reasonably priced. Quality. Looks good too.

Great Light for the Price
I purchased 2 versions of this light, the 9″ and the 12″ to test in my closet. I stuck with the 12″, but the review could apply to both since worked very similarly. I needed the lights to replace a fixture that was installed when the house was built, roughly 7 years ago. I installed a smart bulb with an external motion sensor a couple years ago, but it has sense stopped working and would not reconnect to Wi-Fi. After finding these at the price point I wanted, I wanted to give them a try.Pros/Cons:Pros:- Ease of installation: The mounting bracket had plenty of slots to match up to a variety of electrical boxes in the ceiling. Once the mounting bracket was installed, a metal wire on the back of the light allowed the light to hang from the ceiling while the wiring was completed, making the installation very easy.- Price: I paid around $37 USD for the 12â light. This was one of the cheaper options for motion sensing lights- Quality: For the price, I believe this is a decent quality light. It is plastic, but I didnât expect a designer light for $40- Motion detecting: The motion detecting is spot on. It does not use the same type motion detecting where a sensor has to see the motion, like my old set up. This can be set to detect motion through thinner walls or doors. Iâve walked past the closed door and seen the light come on. This can be adjusted down, which I have mine set to the minimum range and still have it pick me up here and there, but with mine only staying on for a minute, I donât mind it popping on here and there when Iâm walking by.- Remotes: The remotes are the normal, cheap remotes you find with most of these type lights. The part I like is the remote from the 9â size works on the 12â and vice versa. That means if you have multiple lights, you can keep track of a single remote or have a backup if you wish. Or you do not have to worry about mixing them up.- Brightness: The 12â lit up my walk-in close very well. The bright white setting really gets into some of the areas my other lights could not reach.Cons:- Hole size for wire: This is more of an issue with the 9â size. If your wiring is the single wire and not the braided, stuffing the wires through the cutout for the wiring can be a challenge. I struggled to get it back through. For the 12â size, it was not quite as difficult- Light selector switch: To change the tone of the light, there is a selector switch inside the framework of the light, so you must unscrew the light, select the color you want, then put it back. I would like to have seen this as a remote option.- Wire nuts: The included wire nuts are not ones I like to use often. Without the wing on the bottom, they can be hard to get sufficiently tight.- Look: While the look isnât bad, you can definitely tell it is not decorative or high quality. If thatâs what youâre going for, this is not the light for you. I used mine in a closet and did not care really what it looked like, so it worked great in my application.- Stripped wire length: The wires were not stripped very far down. I like to make sure the connection is very secure, which means having the wires wrap around each other a couple times. I had to strip off a little more than the coated section of the wiring out of the box.Summary:From my experience, these lights are a great option if you are looking for a decent light for most applications. As I stated, I put mine in a walk-in closet, and it has worked great since installation. The look of the light is somewhat cheap, but if functionality is all you care about, this is a great option! One recommendation Iâd give is to have a set of wire nuts that have the wings on the bottom. They are easier to use and seem to work better than the ones provided.

Light looks good & installs easily.
An inexpensive, easy to install led motion light with remote.Nice job on making the installation easier by first installing mount onto box, then using a small wire installed on the fixture to hang light from mount while doing wiring. Good design.Remote works well, although a little weak on the instructions.Light looks good. Motion detecting works good. Installed in a dimly lit garage. But light is elegant enough to have in the main house.

Bought 5 of these, 2 arrived and do not work properly!
Bought 5 of these lights. I’ve installed 2, both has problems. The first one, the sensor doesn’t work. It doesn’t turn on or off without the use of the remote. The 2nd one, the remote doesn’t work to adjust the light. The other 3 are late on arrival. I’m not even going to try those based on the first two. DO NOT BUY THESE, THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE!

Bright and works as expected.

Bought a second one
Easy install. Bright. Good for closed spaces. Not particularly attractive enough for entryway or open area. Price is great. Be sure and test your color temperature preference before you finish the install.Far right is cool, center is warm 4000k and left is very warm.

Easy to install, programming a challenge
Installation was a snap. Love that it has a hook to hold the light while you’re working on the wiring. Where was this idea 25 years ago?I’m only giving it a four because of the lack of instructions.Like others, I had issues with the dimming — at first. After monkeying with it for a while, I finally got it working.Stand with the remote in a location that on/off works. Then press Reset and the light will go off/on. Then choose the other settings. Each time you set one of the options, the light will go off/on. If it didn’t go on/off, then it didn’t accept the change (except dimming change). Wait a few seconds and try again. But, once you’ve programmed it after hitting Reset it works. So, for example: Reset. 25%. Disable. 30s, then Dim +/- it to where you want it and leave it.I think anytime you want to change a setting, aside from the dimming you have to Reset and reprogram.Hope this helps someone.
