Product Overview
The Merax Triple Bunk Bed with Trundle is a space-efficient sleeping solution crafted for families, college students, or anyone sharing a bedroom with multiple people. Featuring a twin-over-twin bunk setup and an integrated trundle bed beneath the lower bunk, this design allows up to three individuals to sleep comfortably in a single unit—without sacrificing valuable floor space. Whether used for everyday family life, sleepovers, or accommodating guests, this bunk bed blends practicality with a modern aesthetic. Its compact footprint makes it especially well-suited for smaller homes, dorm rooms, apartments, or any room where maximizing space is essential.
Key Features
- Triple Sleeping Capacity: The configuration includes two stacked twin bunks above a pull-out trundle, enabling three separate sleeping areas within a single frame. This makes it ideal for siblings sharing a room or parents needing extra space for overnight guests.
- Built-In Trundle: A detachable trundle bed is included and stored beneath the bottom bunk. When needed, it can be extended using smooth-gliding casters, providing an instant third bed without requiring additional furniture.
- Modern and Versatile Design: The clean lines and neutral finish allow the bunk bed to blend seamlessly into various bedroom styles—from contemporary to rustic—making it a flexible choice for different interiors.
- Durable Frame Construction: Built with high-quality wood materials, the structure supports regular use and daily activity. While most users report satisfactory stability during initial assembly and short-term use, opinions vary on long-term durability depending on weight distribution and frequency of movement.
- User-Friendly Assembly: Designed with straightforward construction in mind, the bunk bed comes with labeled parts and clear instructions. However, assembly complexity may increase for those unfamiliar with furniture builds, and some customers have noted that certain steps require patience and careful alignment.

Benefits & Use Cases
This triple bunk bed excels in environments where space conservation and multi-person sleeping are priorities. It’s particularly beneficial for households with more than one child, such as parents who want their kids to share a room but still need individual beds. College students living in dorms or shared housing often choose similar configurations to host friends during weekend visits. The trundle adds significant versatility—it transforms the bed from a two-person setup into a three-bedroom solution in under a minute, making it perfect for unexpected guests or family gatherings.
Beyond practicality, the Merax bunk bed emphasizes safety and comfort. The guardrails on both upper bunks help prevent accidental falls during sleep, and the solid frame ensures consistent support. While the design doesn’t include built-in ladders or storage drawers, the open structure allows for easy access and airflow underneath the top bunks—ideal for storing seasonal clothing or bedding.
Its neutral color palette and simple silhouette make it a stylish addition to any kid’s room, teen bedroom, or guest area. Parents appreciate the balance of affordability and functionality, while teens often enjoy the sense of independence that comes with having their own designated sleeping zone.
Important Notes
- While many users find the Merax Triple Bunk Bed attractive and functional, a recurring feedback point is that squeaking noises may develop after approximately one month of regular use. These sounds often result from loose joints or shifting components and can typically be resolved by tightening screws or adjusting connections—though persistent issues may indicate ongoing instability.
- Assembly experiences vary widely. Users with prior furniture-building experience generally complete setup without major issues, whereas first-time assemblers may encounter frustration due to unclear diagrams or ambiguous instructions. Patience and double-checking part alignment during construction are recommended.
- No mattress is included. Customers must purchase standard twin-sized mattresses separately to ensure proper fit and comfort across all three sleeping platforms.
- Sturdiness assessments differ among reviewers. Some report the bed remains stable and secure over years of use, particularly when loaded evenly and not subjected to excessive rocking or climbing. Others note concerns about wobbling or bending under heavier loads, suggesting that weight limits should be respected and children should avoid rough play on the upper bunks.
- For visual reference, the product listing includes seven detailed images labeled

, showcasing the bunk bed from multiple angles—including side profiles, trundle extension views, guardrail close-ups, and full-room styling examples. These visuals help buyers understand the bed’s proportions, design elements, and how it fits into real living spaces.
Overall, the Merax Triple Bunk Bed with Trundle offers a balanced combination of affordability, style, and adaptability. While it may not meet every household’s expectations for premium build quality or noise-free performance, it delivers reliable functionality for its intended use cases. Families seeking a scalable, space-saving sleeping solution will find it a practical investment, especially when paired with thoughtful mattress selection and mindful assembly practices.

Does the job
I bought this bed for guests with kids I hosted for only two weeks. The bed did the job and I liked the pull-out bed, it kept the room tidy during the day. However, itâs not sturdy. It keeps making noises everytime anyone makes a small move. Plus, the pull-out bed is not moving smoothly after only 2 weeks of usage by a 9-year-old. Turned out the bed frame itself got a little deformed after usage, which caused the wheels to be at an angle (attached a photo of how the frame looks like near one of the wheels, looks similar in other wheels as well).Assembly took us about three hours.Given that this was the cheapest bed I found with free shipping, I somewhat expected the quality.

Perfect!
Easy to follow directions, super sturdy, very attractive bunk bed set! Using an REI kids camping blow up for the trundle at the moment since standard twin mattresses are a bit too long. Love them!

You get what you pay for
Bed looks fine but after about one month it became very squeaky. The trundle wheels are cheap and broke at the one year mark and after only several uses. Theyâre made of cheap plastic. As with most companies, they only offer replacement wheels within one year, not 374 days. However, they also do not sell replacement wheels, leaving me trying to find wheels that not only fit the threading but are the proper height to allow the trundle to still slide under the bed.Doing it over, I would have spent the extra money for a different bed.

AMazing bunk bed with Trundle- kids love it
This was a very good purchase, it fit my budget & the kids are happy. Fixing it up is pretty easy, u might need an adult at some point when u have the top bed completed.

Great for small rooms! BUT the assemblingð«
I like that is doesn’t take up unnecessary space, I can situp straight in the middle bed without hitting my head on the top bed and it is low in height away from the ceiling fan.Sooooo the assembling part…… yeah that was a mission. The bars to hold the beds underneath were a bish to put together. If you don’t have patience just pay to get it build for you.The bed makes squeaking nose that can become annoying. Other than that, im pretty happy with the bunk beds and my kids love it.
