- Assembly is required and should be completed using only the provided hardware and instructions to guarantee correct alignment, secure connections, and maximum safety performance.
- Always follow local and national bunk bed safety guidelines, including never using the upper bunk as a play area or allowing climbing outside the designated ladder.

Great bed
This bed looks very nice and came at a great price. My husband ended up putting this together when he was home by himself and said it was very easy and didnât take long. The bed seems like it will hold up nicely. My only complaint is that the mattresses seem to fit very snugly. The mattresses are standard twin size and meet the size requirements in the bed description, but I have to push them down to get them to fit within the bed frame (width wise) in both the upper and lower beds. This makes the already unpleasant task of putting sheets on a bunk bed even more unpleasant.

Wonderful bed more than 4 years later
We have used this bed for four years now. It is still in stellar condition. It’s sturdy, no sqeeks or shaking. The ladder is comfortable. The gray color is beautiful. The storage space underneath is great. We’ve used it as two separate twin beds and as bunks and worked well either way.Building it was slightly tedious as I did it mostly alone. I do remember some frustrations with the screws that hold the planks across the frame. We did put cardboard over the planks on the top bunk as we had a memory foam mattress that was thinner and my son could feel the planks but that’s a mattress issue not a bed issue.I’m only reviewing now because I came to look at the price as we consider selling it. My son wants a loft bed. As I write this review I realize I’m gonna have a hard time finding a comparable, high quality replacement.

Pleased with the end result, but not necessarily the shipper…
I purchased this bed with great hesitancy after reading several reviews on Amazon, Walmart, and other stores that sell these. First, they are priced way higher at Toys-R-Us, and about the same at Walmart. I got these for my 5 year old twin boys. I looked at a lot of different beds, but really wanted this one because of it’s size and price. My sons’ room has an unavoidable drop in the ceiling down to 7 feet – there is nowhere to place a bunk bed without the ceiling drop being involved somehow. This was the only one I think I could find that was 60inches – which is also good, because I am 62 inches, and I can decorate the bed more easily. I also purchased the Amazon recommended mattresses with this bed (Signature Sleep Essentials 8inch and 6inch).I decided I was going to completely re-do my sons’ bedroom for their new ‘big boy’ room. I was so excited! I ordered the bunk bed on Friday January 30, 2015. I am a Prime member, and I know that the bed can take an extra few days for processing. I was patient. On February 2, I received an email saying the package had shipped, and would arrive by Friday February 6. Yay! I went and got all their new bedding, paint, wall decorations, some additional furniture pieces, and made arrangements for them to go to Grandma and Grandpa’s on Friday the 6th for the weekend. I usually work Sundays, and I took the day off of work so I could have everything completed and ready for when my sons’ got home Sunday night. I checked with Amazon throughout the week to make sure the bed was still arriving on Friday… according to Amazon, it was. The bedding arrived earlier in the week, the sheets, and the mattresses arrived on time too. Friday afternoon comes and I check Amazon – still on time for Friday delivery by 8pm. I check UPS, and there is no updated status other than ‘in transit’. I check back with UPS around 4pm, and it says ‘arrived at destination facility – out for delivery Monday February 9. Super irritated, I called UPS and said WTF. Can I come pick this up (UPS is 2 miles from my house). UPS says ‘no, you can not pick up a package before it’s scheduled delivery date’. I say ‘ It was suppose to be delivered today’, they say ‘Shipper did not give it to us until February 4’. I try to arrange for a Saturday delivery – not an option. Thoroughly frustrated, I used my unexpected free-time to go out and drink wine with my friends. I spent the entire day Saturday painting, and instead of setting up bunk beds in between coats of paint, I took a nap, shopped, and sulked about the fact that my surprise for my sons was ruined by UPS – or Storkcraft – or really, both. Sunday I put their room back together, set up their new mattresses on the floor with their new Spiderman and Batman sheets, comforters, and new pillows. I tentatively placed their furniture back in their room, and hung up their wall decorations because I really was not sure where the bed was going to go/fit best. I just needed to convince my kids that sleeping on the floor was fun. The boys came home, they looked at the new paint job, liked the wall decorations, and loved the fact they could very easily jump on their new mattresses on the floor. They had all the bedding off in seconds, and had a fort built out of the mattresses within minutes. Boys. They did not like their mattresses on the floor, and ended up crawling in bed with me in the middle of the night. Two 5-year olds and an adult sharing a queen is not recommended…I ended up taking Monday off of work so I could get the beds set up before Monday night – I did not want to spend another night trying to keep the boys in their beds on the floor. I read the reviews for this bed that said it took 5-6 hours to set up the beds, and that had me concerned. The beds arrived at 2pm, and I had a 530pm event to attend. Fortunately, my Dad was my babysitter for the evening. Dad came over, and took charge. I basically watched him set up the beds. The pieces arrived in good shape, but they are poorly labeled. The pieces are pretty obvious as to what purpose they serve, but having some instruction to help figure out the directionality of the pieces would be helpful for quicker set-up. My Dad had the first bed set up quickly, but we had issues with the top bunk. One of the pre-drilled holes in the frame was off, and it did not line up. We spent probably an hour trying different ways of getting the long screw in the hole, trying to line up with the little piece that it is supposed to connect with. He tried, I tried, but eventually we just had to alter the existing hole enough to make it work. I left for my event, and enjoyed more wine while I hoped that I would not be spending another night sleeping with two sweaty 5-year-olds. I return home, the beds are done, and decorated (thanks, Mom), and the boys love them. I love them. They fit great in their room, and seem sturdy. Other commenters have mentioned a chemical smell, but all I smell is painted wood/new furniture smell. Nothing overpowering or irritating – and I have a very sensitive nose. I think I may purchase some reinforcing connectors for where the two beds connect with each other. As of now, the top bunk sits on the bottom bunk with a long pin holding them together – the top bunk lifts off real easily. My concern is a rambunctious 5 year old kicking the top bunk from the bottom bunk to irritate his brother, and lifting the bed off the pin and having it crash down on the bottom bunk. Fortunately the top bunk is heavy, and his legs are too short right now to be able to do that, but if these beds last a few years it could be a possibility. Other reviews have mentioned slats breaking, and I will keep my eye out for that possibility. They seem sturdy though. There is not a lot of clearance between the bunks, but that should be expected when it is only 5 feet tall. There is enough room for them to sit up, and I can sit on the mattress and lean in for a hug and kiss. I have been on the top bunk, and I did not feel like the bed was going to break. I have been up there with a child, and the combined weight would be 160lbs, and it seemed fine. I wouldn’t make a habit out of it though….To make a really long story short: I am happy with the purchase. The boys love the bed, and I like it too. It fits good in their little room, and looks nice. The shipping drama was a pain that would have been fine if the expected delivery date would have been ACCURATE! I would have gladly waited until the following weekend to follow through with my plans. I wasted a lot of time off work for nothing – It is a good thing that the beds arrived in good shape, and that I like them, because it eases the pain from the shipping fiasco. If my review has not been updated, you can assume the beds are still in good shape, and not broken. I will definitely update if they start falling apart.

Fine for the price but gosh, it smells!
Assembly is honestly easy enough if you read the directions. It is sturdy for children and a regular sized twin mattress fits like a glove. However, and thatâs a BIG HOWEVER, the smell coming from the wooden slats that support the mattress is horrendous. After almost a month, my childrenâs room still smells like a dirty pet store. The wood does not have a chemical smell like some others state, but more so like a hampster cage on steroids mixed with fresh mulch. Itâs disgusting and even with windows open, the room now stinks since the wood is not airing out. Iâll have to research how to treat the wood to eliminate the odor. Not what any of us want to have to do, especially after assembly is finished. The overall condition of the bunk bed is fine, no complaints there! Itâs a simple bunk bed and itâs much better than the hollow metal frames (in my opinion).

So Worth It!!!
I normally donât like to write reviews but I feel like I owe it to the Amazon community since I rely on reviews myself before making a bulky purchase and that there are others like me.Anyhow, it took some time for my hubby and kids to build this bunk bed about 3 hours. Itâs completely worth it, go and get it!!! There is no smell and there were no missing pieces. The quality is good but paint job isnât that great. You can always paint one more layer of paint. If you are on the fence, just get it. I held back from purchasing max and lily as I didnât like the bar in the middle of the upper bunk bed.

It was very straight forward to put together if you follow instructions. Everything lined up perfectly. The bed wood supports do line up with the holes you just need to start in the middle and streach as you go. You need a second person for some of the steps. USE a small ratchet with the correct bit instead of using the allan key wrench it comes with. Some steps require too much musclewith the allan key. It comes in 2 heavy boxes so it would be a good idea to be home when it arrives to help the driver put it in your garage or house. In case you never thought about it make sure your little one is no where near a ceiling fan especially when they go up and down the ladder. The bunk bed is large and can reach close to center of room. We had to move ours once we realized it would be too close for comfort. All in all it is a very nice looking, sturdy bunk bed and our daughter loves it! It’s also good for mom or dad to sleep on the bottom if your little one wants you to stay for a bit instead of on the floor. Price is fair and we are very pleased with this purchase!

Pros:-Solid wood construction-Affordable price-Nice style/design-Versatile (convertible to 2 twin bedframes)Cons:-Slats are too weak-Angled ladder can create a tripping hazard (depending on orientation in the room)-Missing plugs/covers for the screw holesBased on some of the other reviews, I purchased this bedframe (on sale) with the expectation that I would have to add extra support for the slats. My solution was to install custom-fit plywood sheets to place over the slats. The plywood serves dual purposes in preventing mattress sag (between the slats) and it disperses the weight on the bed, preventing damage to the individual slats. With the plywood installed, I find the frame to be quite sturdy.Future plans:1) Custom-build a vertical ladder to use in place of the angled one. The vertical ladder will eliminate the tripping hazard and free up a bit of space in the room.2) Install plugs/covers over the exposed screw holes to improve the appearance of the bed.All things considered, I’m quite happy with my purchase. I’d definitely recommend installing plywood (or bunkie boards) over the slats to strengthen it though!

Very impressed. Bought for our growing family and by far the best bang for your buck out there. Even now I am lying in the bottom bunk with my son (200lbs + 35 lbs) and the max is reccomended 225lbs.Easy to follow insttuctions but be warned takes at least a half day if not longer if the room is small. The slats are the weakest point. At 200 lbs they bow out when I lay on the bed. Don’t allow a full adult to jump on it and it should be fine. I would suggest cutting a 1/4″ slab of plywood to reinforce it but again for kids it should be fine.It looks great for the price and is far sturdier than any particle board crap out there.
