Product Overview

This Power Sliding Door Cable Assembly is a direct replacement for the rear passenger side sliding door on compatible Toyota Sienna models. Designed to restore smooth and secure operation, it prevents the door from getting stuck in an open or closed position. As a critical safety component, this cable ensures your vehicle’s sliding door functions reliably and safely by maintaining proper tension and alignment throughout its movement.

Over time, the original factory cable can degrade due to repeated use, exposure to temperature extremes, UV radiation, moisture, or general wear and tear. Common failure symptoms include fraying, snapping, or internal mechanism breakdown—leading to doors that hesitate, lock unexpectedly, or refuse to open or close fully. This replacement assembly addresses those issues head-on, offering a durable solution built to last under regular driving conditions.

Manufactured to meet or exceed original equipment specifications, this cable assembly is engineered specifically for use on the right (passenger) side of select Toyota Sienna models. The inclusion of the OE part number allows customers to verify compatibility quickly and accurately with existing components or service manuals. Whether you’re performing a full-door repair or replacing a worn-out unit, this part delivers factory-equivalent performance without the premium cost often associated with dealer-only parts.

Key Features

  • OEM-Equivalent Replacement: Constructed using high-quality materials and manufacturing processes to match the performance, durability, and fit of the original part.
  • Exact Fit Design: Tailored specifically for the rear passenger side sliding door on select Toyota Sienna models, minimizing installation time and ensuring proper alignment and tension.
  • Prevents Door Locking Issues: Maintains correct door alignment and smooth movement, eliminating the risk of the door becoming permanently stuck in one position—a common frustration after cable degradation.
  • Easy Identification & Cross-Reference: Comes with multiple associated part numbers for cross-referencing and verification against existing or damaged components, reducing confusion during purchase or installation.
  • Factory-Manufactured Quality: Produced under controlled conditions to ensure consistency and reliability across all units, providing peace of mind with every replacement.

Benefits & Use Cases

If your Toyota Sienna’s rear sliding door frequently sticks, hesitates to open fully, locks unexpectedly, or requires excessive force to operate, the issue is likely a failing or broken cable assembly. These symptoms are especially common in vehicles with high mileage or those regularly exposed to harsh weather conditions. The original cable can stretch, corrode internally, or suffer mechanical fatigue over time, compromising both convenience and safety.

Replacing it restores full functionality and enhances overall vehicle safety. A properly functioning sliding door is not just about ease of access—it also plays a crucial role in emergency egress and child safety when using child locks or supervision features. By choosing this reliable replacement, you ensure consistent performance and avoid the inconvenience of a malfunctioning door during daily use or travel.

This part is ideal for owners seeking a dependable solution without the high cost of OEM dealer parts. While installation requires basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with door mechanisms, the design ensures alignment and tension are maintained correctly once replaced. Professional installation is recommended for first-time users, but DIY enthusiasts will appreciate the straightforward fit and clear reference to OE specifications.

Always confirm compatibility using the provided part numbers before purchasing. While this cable assembly fits a range of years and configurations within the Toyota Sienna lineup, double-checking with your VIN, service manual, or using an online parts lookup tool is strongly advised for precise fitment—especially if your vehicle has unique trim packages, aftermarket modifications, or was built at different manufacturing plants.

Important Notes

Always verify that the part number matches your vehicle before ordering. This product is intended only for vehicles listed in the associated model references. While this cable assembly fits many popular Sienna configurations, variations exist between model years, body styles (minivan vs. hybrid), and power door options. Confirming fitment ensures optimal performance and avoids return complications.

The package includes one complete cable assembly for the rear passenger side door. No additional hardware, tools, or mounting brackets are included unless specified separately in the product listing. Some installations may require removing interior trim panels or disconnecting battery terminals for safety—consult your vehicle’s repair guide if unsure.

For best results, inspect related components such as door rollers, track alignment, and motor connections while troubleshooting sliding door issues. Even with a new cable, problems like binding or misalignment can stem from other worn parts. Addressing these during replacement extends the life of the new assembly and prevents recurring failures.

    Solved my problem perfectly
This fit well into my 2008 Toyota Sienna, and I was able to replace only this part at a fraction of the price. The single-sheet directions were just barely sufficient, but combined with the excellent steps from shareyourrepair.com I was able to do this myself in maybe 5 hours

    Affordable and high quality
I needed this to repair the passenger side door of my 2009 Toyota Sienna. The original cable failed and so the power sliding function no longer worked. This part was exactly what I needed to fix it. I completed the job successfully and this part saved me a ton of money vs taking the car in for the repair.I’ve never done anything more than change headlights and the car battery, so this job is the most in-depth project I’ve taken on myself when it comes to my mechanic skills. It took me all day, but I did it. I was able to complete it by following a YouTube video (“Toyota Sienna Sliding Doors” by The Car Care Nut). I followed the video, except for the part where he replaces the rear door latch, as mine was fine.I read previous comments regarding winding the cable around the spool. If you’re doing this job on the PASSENGER side, the silver cable gets wound on the motor-facing side of the spool, and the black cable goes on the other side. Also, you’ll need ~22 inches of each cable. Knowing this will make that part of the job a lot easier.Another tip: DON’T fully close the door at any point while you’re working on this. I took a break about halfway through the job and foolishly closed the door. I had to reconnect the main panel inside the door in order to get it open again, which added a lot of frustration.

Long install, but seems to work great
It’s been a month since I installed this. The older sienna isn’t as easy to repair (requires pulling the window out) so it took me 4 hours. Door still works, so that’s good

    Only lasted THREE months!!
This was not an easy install in the slightest & it broke after only THREE months!! It took several hours to install, while removing many components in the door. There weren’t comprehensive instructions included, but videos on YT helped. It wasn’t worth the effort for this product. Wish I could say it would last. Not worth the money!

    It Fits!!!…..
I was happily surprised that this kit contained all the necessary parts and that it fit so well into the original installation spaces. The only issue I had was that, in the assembly directions, there was no indication about how many turns each cable needed on the spool, or, which cable was on the inside and which on the outside. (Turns out that the silver cable was on the outside and the black cable was on the sprocketed inside – nearest the motor. ) For me, I found success by mounting the motor assembly panel (black, with five bolts) on its space on the door, followed by the spool and then the plastic cover housing last. (This step, after the cable guide at the top of the door and The cables needed some re-rolling a few times to get the number of turns for each color cable absolutely correct. There didn’t seem to be an easier way because, in the end, each cable needed a little bit of tensioning from its built-in spring mechanism on each cable end. Yet..after all the disassembly and re-assembly, it’s in and working!! And…the part was very reasonably priced!! (Supplementary Hint: I changed the door support middle hinge before installing this cable assembly.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FT5L9SQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsThe original hinge can likely fail – with some loss of the rotating bearing on at least 1 of 3 bearing surfaces. Once the new hinge is installed, the cable assembly can be dropped in from the top and its cable roller bolted to the top of the hinge center.

    Cheap Chinese parts.
Installed part back in September 2024, now February 2025 broken again. My third cheap Chinese passenger sliding door cable. Why can’t they produce quality parts???? What a waste of money.

    Didn’t “quite” fit…
I needed to “modify” the fit to get it to work. There shouldn’t be a need to cut the OEM fitting to attach it to the vehicle. It works…I guess that’s the bottom line.

    Well made replacement
Of all the car parts I’ve purchased from Amazon, this was the best made. It fits well with no modifications needed. The color coded cables made it simple to know which way to install. The only complaint I have is the copy of instructions I received were blurry, like a copy of a copy.
