Product Overview
The Prime-Line N 7536 Sliding Closet Door Roller Kit is a practical and dependable solution for repairing or upgrading bypass-style sliding closet doors. Designed specifically for top-hung, side-mount systems commonly found in residential closets, this kit includes four roller assemblies constructed from durable stamped steel brackets and smooth-rolling plastic wheels. Ideal for both homeowners and maintenance professionals, the N 7536 helps restore smooth, quiet operation to doors that have become stiff, misaligned, or difficult to slide due to worn-out or damaged rollers. Whether you’re replacing aging components or fixing a door that sticks at the bottom or pulls to one side, this repair kit offers a straightforward way to extend the life of your existing closet doors without the cost and effort of full replacement.
Key Features
- Two Pairs of Roller Assemblies: The kit contains two distinct sets of rollers—one pair for the front sliding panels with a precise 1/8-inch offset, and another for the rear-hanging panel featuring a larger 3/8-inch offset. This dual-configuration ensures compatibility with standard bypass door setups, where the center rail hangs behind the front panels, allowing balanced movement across the track.
- Height-Adjustment Dial: Each roller assembly is equipped with an integrated dial that allows users to fine-tune the wheel height. This feature is especially valuable when correcting uneven tracks, sagging panels, or imbalances caused by shifting weight over time. Adjustments can be made quickly and precisely, minimizing the need for disassembly or additional tools.
- Durable Construction: Built with stamped steel brackets and robust plastic wheels, these rollers are engineered to endure daily use and support consistent load-bearing performance. The materials resist wear and deformation, helping maintain alignment and smooth operation over the long term.
- Top-Hung, Side-Mount Design: This mounting style supports the door from the top while allowing side access for adjustments. It reduces strain on the track system and simplifies maintenance, as users can adjust or replace rollers without removing the entire door assembly.
- Convex Wheel Edges: Each 7/8-inch diameter wheel features rounded (convex) edges that minimize friction and prevent snagging. This design promotes quieter sliding and reduces the risk of binding or catching during operation, even after extended use.

Benefits & Use Cases
This roller kit is particularly well-suited for bypass sliding closet doors used in bedrooms, walk-in closets, laundry rooms, and other tight spaces where space-saving designs are essential. While it is compatible with Stanley-brand doors, it also fits many other manufacturers’ models that utilize similar top-hung, side-mount track systems. Homeowners who experience common issues such as doors that won’t glide smoothly, get stuck at the bottom, or drift sideways will find the adjustable height feature especially helpful. The combination of 1/8-inch and 3/8-inch offset rollers accommodates typical door configurations—front-mounted panels versus rear-hanging center rails—ensuring proper fit and balance.
Because installation is simple and doesn’t require specialized tools, this kit is ideal for DIY repairs. Users can often complete the job in under an hour by following basic instructions, making it a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new doors. The inclusion of both small and large offset rollers means you’re covered whether your door has a shallow or deeper track profile. Regular cleaning of the guide rails before installation further enhances performance and longevity by removing debris that could interfere with smooth rolling.
Many customers report satisfaction with the ease of use and durability of these rollers. They describe the product as reliable for daily operations and effective at eliminating sticking or misalignment problems. However, some users have noted that the fixed offset dimensions may not suit very thick wood panels, so it’s important to verify your door’s current specifications before ordering. For best results, inspect existing rollers and tracks for damage or wear prior to replacement, and ensure the mounting surface is clean and secure.
Important Notes
This kit contains exactly one complete set of four roller assemblies and does not include additional hardware such as screws or mounting plates unless explicitly included in the packaging. Always confirm your door’s current roller type and offset requirements before purchasing to ensure compatibility. While most customers find the product delivers good value for money and performs well under normal conditions, those with unusually thick or oversized closet panels may encounter fit limitations. For optimal performance, remove old rollers carefully, clean the track thoroughly, and follow the manufacturer’s guidance when adjusting the height dials to achieve balanced door movement.

Best you can get nowadays
My mom’s old closet door rollers rubber was run down to the end, and they don’t make them anymore. Hers were from the early 60’s or older…solid, and great. But with the rubber completely worn down to the metal, they dragged on the wood floors and also made it easy for it to come off of the track. And these are SOLID WOOD, very heavy. Think 3/4″-1″ plywood, solid closest doors that each door spans the width of 2 standard bifold doors, each. Anyway. These were a really good replacement, we were able to continue to use the rest of the hardware that was original with the house. The ability to adjust with this wheel design was great. Super helpful and simple.I know these won’t last as long as the original, BUT they will easily last for a good 10-15 years, I’m confident in that. Even with how heavy the doors are.(I’m also really good about updating my reviews if anything changes!)

GREAT!
Major improvement over the existing hardware. I was having a fit trying to re-hang older doors after a new carpet install. Pretty sure the casters were worn out. These were quick to install and super easy to achieve fine adjustments with. I got a 2 pack and now I am just waiting for the next door to need new rollers!!

Muy buenas y se ven fuertes.

Great design
These are the only rollers that I find stay in position, adjust easily, and hold up to daily frequent use. Other cheap Inferior rollers that loosen and need frequent adjustment are a real pain and often lead to misuse that damages the track. Get these and avoid future problems.

Renewed 35 year old doors.
Our sliding closet doors were becoming more and more cranky and noisy over time. We replaced all 4 rollers and now they glide, noiseless, as smooth as when the doors were new, 35 years ago.
